Easy Street is special part of the Sanford Rehabilitation Center. It is a simulated community that allows therapists to help patients learn to function in real-life situations without leaving the hospital. Individual modules include a grocery store, cafe and apartment with a kitchen, dining room and bedroom. These areas of Easy Street incorporate real world obstacles including curbs, steps, ramps, slopes and turnstiles. A physical and occupational therapy gym is conveniently located on Easy Street. The Easy Street enhances the well-established rehabilitation program offered at Sanford Health, and is the only facility of its kind in western North Dakota.
Easy Street FundHow you can help
Easy Street was created to help Sanford Rehabilitation patients practice and relearn everyday living skills. It was made possible when the Easy Street Fund was established in 1987. Funds are continually needed to keep Easy Street running smoothly which helps rehabilitation patients return home successfully. Click here to contribute to the Easy Street Fund, call the Sanford Health Foundation at 323-8450.

Patients use the Easy Money machine and shop for groceries in the market.
Easy Street also features a porch, street intersections and a park bench. Textured sidewalks give patients a chance to get comfortable with real-life surroundings.
Unique to Easy Street is a farm and garage setting specially designed to meet the needs of rural residents who come to the Rehabilitation Center. Patients can learn skills that will permit them to maintain their livelihood and lifestyles.
An apartment is available for patients to start making the adjustment to going home.
