Education: Instructor Charys Kunkel has been employed at the College of Nursing since January 2010. She holds a master's of science in nursing from the University of Mary with a specialization in nursing education.

Classes:
Kunkel teaches aging adult health, research and redesign and health assessment. Kunkel's students find her an enthusiastic, caring and encouraging teacher. They appreciate her positive attitude.

Accomplishments:
Kunkel has demonstrated scholarship in the area of end-of-life education. She has numerous local presentations and three national presentations on using simulation to teach end-of-life care.

College and community involvement:
Kunkel serves on the Student Affairs Committee, Research and Human Subject Committee and the Faculty Organization. Kunkel is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau, she serves on the historical committee. She is active in her church as a youth group leader. She is a fitness instructor with the Sanford Health Women's Health Center and in her home community. She is a parent volunteer with the New Salem elementary and high schools.

Education:
Clinical Teaching Faculty Carol Manifold has been employed at the College of Nursing since August 2002. She holds a master's of science in nursing from the University of Mary and is certified in community health nursing.

Classes:
Manifold teaches the clinical component of community health nursing. Manifold actively searches for quality community clinical experiences for her students. Students appreciate Manifold's direction and feedback.

College and community involvement:
Manifold serves on the Faculty Affairs Committee and the Faculty Organization. Manifold is a member of the North Dakota Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau. Manifold is actively involved in service to the community. She is active in her church, serving as Eucharistic minister, lecture and as an advisory board member.
   
Wanda Rose, Sanford Health College of Nursing Wanda Rose, PhD, MSN, RNC

Education: Associate Professor and Associate Dean Wanda Rose has been employed at the College of Nursing since August 1992. She holds a master's of science in nursing from the University of Mary and a doctor of philosophy degree in teaching and learning from the University of North Dakota.

Classes:
Rose teaches community health, professional seminar and research. Rose is a positive role model and a great teacher; she shares her passions of community health and public policy with her students. Rose received the Crystal Apple Award for excellence in post-secondary education.

Accomplishments:
Rose serves on the Sanford Health Research Council and presented to associates on the research utilization processes. She has authored four articles, two of them published in peer reviewed journals. She has presented at numerous state and local conferences on public policy and nursing. She presented at a national conference on the use of art to express a philosophy of nursing.

College and community involvement:
Rose serves on the Faculty Affairs Committee and the Faculty Organization. As the College's liaison to the foundation, she devotes much of her time to alumni development. Rose is actively involved with the North Dakota School Nurse Organization and the North Dakota Nurses Association, currently serving as president. Rose is a member of the Bismarck Tobacco Coalition, she is involved in tobacco access policy making and testifying at city commission meetings.
